Library Rules & Regulation

General Rules:

 

  • Strict silence and discipline must be maintained in the library

  • Every member must sign the Register available at the entrance.

  • Entry by Library Card.

  • Library card is not transferable.

  • Books will be issued subject to availability.

  • A fine of Rs. 1/- per day will be charged after the due date due to late submission

  • Personal printed reading materials are not allowed inside the library.

  • The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his/her identity card.

  • Newspapers and magazines must be read only in the library on  specific tables and should not be taken to other reading areas

  • Reference books, Newspaper and Magazines/Journals should not be taken out of the library.

  • Photography, smoking, sleeping, use of cell phone and talking loudly are strictly prohibited. in the library

  • Readers should not mark, underline, dog-ear mark, write, tear pages or damages the library documents.

  • No library material can be taken out from the library without permission

  • Readers should not shelve books and periodicals as that disturb the prescribed order

  • Members leaving the library should show the material borrowed or taken out of the library by them to the library staff for checking purpose

 

Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library would be liable to lose the privilege of library membership.

 

Library Hours

Monday-Friday: 9.00 am to 7.00 pm
Sunday: 10 am to 6 pm

Library Facilities available all days except National Holidays.

 

 

Issue/Reissue/Return

Monday-Friday: 10.00 am to 2.00 pm & 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm.
Saturday: 10.00 am to 2.00 pm

Sundays and holidays- Closed

 

Circulation

The members are to produce their Bar-coded user ID card for any transaction in the Library.

Book Lost

If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay triple cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.

Loss of cards

Loss of borrower card should be reported to the librarian in writing. After checking the borrowing register they will be issued a fresh replacement card on a payment of Rs.100/- per card.

No due Certificate

Each student shall obtain No dues certificate from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.

Book bank

Members of the book bank will be issued 2 textbooks for each semester.
Book shall be returned within two days after the theory examination, otherwise a fine of Rs.1/- per day will be charged.

Reference section

This section has Encyclopedia, dictionaries, Text books reference books etc. which are only available for reference. User can make use of these resources.

Journal Section

In these section journals, general magazines and news letter are available. They are arranged alphabetically. The latest issues are displayed on display rack and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in rack alphabetically and are meat only for reference with in the library.
